    @virginia_beach_inshore_fishing the jack plate helps get up in shallow water. It does help with performance but in my case I’m only jacked up about an inch above normal. I’m running an @eastcapeskiffs Vantage VHP with an Evinrude 150 HO on the back. I have tons of torque for a 900lbs boat!

    @virginia_beach_inshore_fishing you should be able to run about 12-14″ no problem in mud atleast. If you draft 8″ and have 10″ below the hull that puts you at a 18″ draft with motor down. You won’t be able to get up as shallow without a tunnel and jack plate but learn some holeshot tricks and you’ll easily hop up in less than 2 ft
